Ally Bank is an online bank that has no retail locations and is headquartered in Sandy, Utah. The company was named GMAC Inc. until 2010, when it was changed to Ally Bank. Ally Bank offers auto loans, home loans, credit cards, investments, and basic checking and savings accounts. Parent company Ally Financial is ranked 19th largest bank in the United States by assets, managing over $167 billion. Ally Bank is also the biggest auto lender in the United States by volume, servicing over 4.3 million consumer auto loans.
International Wire Transfers: Ally Bank does not support outgoing international wire transfers, but can receive them. Ally Bank doesn’t charge you to receive a wire (domestic or international) to your Ally Bank account but the bank sending the wire may charge you a fee. Keep in mind, you may also be charged a fee by an intermediary bank. Instruct the sending bank to use the code “OUR” in field 71A (details of charges) to require the sending party to pay the intermediary fees.
